Tungnath is one of the highest Shiva temples in the world and is the highest of the five Panch Kedar temples located in the mountain range of Tunganath in Rudraprayag district, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The Tunganath mountains form the Mandakini and Alaknanda river valleys.
Chandrashila that literally suggests the ‘Moon Rock’ is the summit of the Chandranath Parvat on which the Tungnath temple of Panch Kedar is situated. It is located at a height of about 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) above sea level. This peak provides views of the Himalayas.
This temple of Mata Anusuya is located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, about six kilometers from Mandal. Dattatreya Jayanti is celebrated every year in this temple. Thousands of devotees attend it. The Naudi fair is also organized here on this occasion.In this, people arrive with devolis from their villages.
